Product Description
Product Description
The Essential Enamel Cast Iron Dutch Oven is a true kitchen essential, designed for both everyday meals and special occasions. This heavy-duty, multipurpose cooking pot is perfect for braising, roasting, baking, and simmering your favorite recipes. With its easy-grip, dual handles, this enameled Dutch oven makes moving from the stovetop to the oven or table a breeze, while the cook and serve design ensures effortless transitions from preparation to presentation. Constructed from durable cast iron and finished with an enamel coating, this Dutch oven is both stain-resistant and non-toxic. The porcelain enamel surface stands up to acidic ingredients and will not react with your food, so you can marinate, cook, refrigerate, and serve all in one versatile cookware piece. The Lodge enameled Dutch oven supports even heat distribution and superior heat retention, ensuring that your food cooks evenly throughout the bottom and sidewalls. Its stovetop-compatible design means you can use it on gas, electric, ceramic, and induction cooktops, as well as in the oven up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Whether you’re a seasoned chef or a home cook, this colorful enamel pot will add both style and function to your culinary routine. Lodge cookware is handcrafted to be a modern heirloom that will last generations. With over 125 years of experience, Lodge knows cast iron and the joy cooking with it can bring. We're proud to be a family-owned company that still makes quality cast iron in the USA, in green foundries that put innovation to work. Lodge Color is one of the newest lines from this respected American cast-iron cookware company. Traditionally shaped and more affordable than some European brands, Lodge Color enameled cast-iron is just as durable, requires no seasoning, and attractively serves at the table. Lodge infuses this 6-quart Dutch oven with two coats of hard-as-nails porcelain enamel, in a choice of several bright colors that are gradated (dark to light) on the exterior, and which are nicely set off by a cream interior. Embellished with concentric circles and a black knob, the lid, which also fits the Lodge Color 11-inch skillet, is oven-safe to 400 degrees F, so you can start a stew or casserole on the stovetop and finish by baking it in the oven. The 6-quart Dutch oven measures 10-3/4 inches in diameter by 4-1/2 inches deep.
Lodge enameled cast iron makes a smart choice due to its versatility--you can marinate raw meats in it, since it won't absorb odors or flavors, and you can braise, saute, simmer, and bake in it as well. Made in China to Lodge's meticulous specifications, each cookware item is first clad in matte black enamel before the color is added. The black rim that shows on the oven is actually the scratch-resistant matte enamel, not the raw cast iron. Though the Dutch oven is dishwasher-safe, washing by hand is recommended to best preserve the glossy finish. Look also for the pricier Lodge Enamel series, with its unique L-shaped lid knob, in a different set of colors and sizes to suit any kitchen. All Lodge enameled ware is covered by a lifetime warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

Great Alternative to the Expensive Brand
Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2026Title: Great Alternative to the Expensive Brand
I absolutely love this cast-iron pot! It feels very high quality and performs just as well as some of the much more expensive brands. The orange color is really fun and looks great in the kitchen. I personally hand wash it and dry it immediately to keep it in great condition, and it has held up really well. If you’ve been considering one of the higher-end cast-iron brands but want to spend a little less, I would definitely recommend looking at this one. Overall, 5 out of 5 stars!

Beauty and the Baker
Reviewed in the United States on March 28, 2026Bought this for making sourdough and it turned out perfectly. The coloring is beautiful and the price is great. The features are better than more expensive models. I watched a video comparing different models and this one was rated highly; from handles to knob on top and even cooking surface area. There were no flaws in the finish and it arrived super quick. You could leave it on the counter as it looks like fine art.

A kitchen must have
Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2026I couldn’t be happier with this Dutch oven from Lodge. The quality is outstanding — it feels solid and durable, and you can tell it’s built to last. The Sandalwood color is beautiful and looks great both on the stove and on the table.
It heats evenly and retains heat incredibly well, which makes it perfect for bread baking, soups, stews, braising, and slow cooking. I’ve made homemade sourdough in it and the crust came out amazing thanks to the moisture-sealing lid. Everything cooks consistently without hot spots.
The enamel interior is easy to clean and doesn’t require seasoning like traditional cast iron, which is a big plus. The dual handles make it easy to move (with oven mitts, of course), and the lid fits snugly to lock in flavor and moisture.
For the price, this Dutch oven delivers exceptional performance and versatility. Highly recommend for anyone who loves cooking or wants to upgrade their kitchen essentials!

You need this!
Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2025Hands down, Lodge is the finest in Dutch Oven cookware. I made Cheeseburger Soup in one pot! Start to finish. It cooked evenly, completely, and looked so nice on my stovetop. I purchased it in STORM BLUE for contrast to my very white kitchen. But really, you can’t go wrong with Lodge. Cleanup was a breeze because nothing burned or got stuck to the bottom. I did a little babysitting the stove, but this was my maiden, breaking it in adventure! Oh there was some ground beef residue on the bottom while browning it, but with hot soapy water and a soft scrubby, it melted away with no soaking, hard scrubbing, or cursing. Be prepared though as the cookware is quite heavy. But that’s the Lodge quality shining through. The inside bottom is slightly curved which helps with cooking a variety of dishes like my soup. I’m thrilled with my first Dutch Oven purchase. If you enjoy cooking and desire stovetop or oven cooking options from a single pot, get a Dutch Oven!

Lodge makes a good cast iron dutch oven
Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2026Honestly, I'm leaving this review for the joke. I managed to ruin my last Dutch oven. Now that I know better, this one sits on my stove as a nice decoration and I even use it sometimes. I just love the dark green color. I'd probably use it more if it wasn't so heavy. It just makes cleaning it more of a chore. It's a beast and will be in my kitchen forever. I've made soups and sauces and even burned a few vegetables in it. It's more durable than my last one, no problems with chipping or rust as long as I dry it and use the rubber clips when it's not in use. It's a good value for the price IMO.

Don’t use an immersion blender in this Dutch oven
Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2026Lodge is a good brand and this Dutch oven is no exception. I love using it to make soup. It’s easy to use and easy to clean. I took one star off because I asked if an immersion blender can be used in it and the response was yes. Unfortunately, that’s untrue. I used an immersion blender in it today and it damaged the enamel finish. I’m a little heartbroken.

Quality and easy cleanup
Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2026I was considering some type of coded Dutch oven and looked online for quite a while.
I chose Lodge because I’ve owned their cast-iron in the past and loved it. This is an easy cleanup. It came beautifully wrapped, and I use it frequently for soups and stews. If you’re considering any enamel cast iron I highly recommend this one.

"captain-napalm"5 out of 5 starsThis is now my favorite pot
Reviewed in Germany on June 16, 2021I have a cheap stove, so it's not easily possible to stew things at lower temperature with regular pots. The heat dissipates too quickly, so it just stops simmering. Not with this pot: It has amazing heat retention, so it has become indispensable since I bought it. It is extremely heavy though, which is to be expected by such a large mass of cast iron. Maybe it can double as a makeshift bomb shelter in a pinch.
I guess any dutch oven has to measure up to Le Creuset, which I don't personally have any experience with. However, I can see that the Le Creuset costs at least twice as much on Amazon. I doubt that it can be twice as good because this pot is damn near perfect. At 6 liters, it is a bit too big for two people, but that's hardly Lodge's fault.
Only disadvantage to me is that the lid edges are kind of rough so they feel like unglazed terra cotta. That means that putting the lid on, taking it off, or moving it makes a scraping sound which I personally hate more than nails on a chalkboard. Fortunately, the lid is very heavy as well so it's not like you move it around too much.
I'm kind of blindly rating its taste though. I have not tried eating it because I find cast iron too hard to chew, but I have to assume it's delicious.

ckboon5 out of 5 starsAwesome Cast Iron Dutch Oven!
Reviewed in Singapore on April 27, 2024Finally bought a big enamel dutch oven that's affordable, well made and very good looking!
I put 3 whole chicken leg (about 300gm each), 4 thighs (about 600gm), 4 chicken wings (about 600gm), 2 onions, and 4 packets of brown shimeiji mushrooms into the 6-quart dutch oven and baked them in an oven. The meat turned out really well. They were soft and juicy and the whole family loved it.
The next time I cook this dish, I will experiment with shorter baking time & lower temperature.
